CYO Day Camps will not be
offered
this summer
After
reviewing this past summer’s CYO Day Camping program and that of
recent years, Catholic Charities Health & Human Services (CCHHS) has
come to the difficult decision of no longer providing the CYO Day
Camping program.
CCHHS will continue to
offer other summer programs.
Two of these programs include the Camp Christopher program in Bath,
Ohio, and the Camp Happiness program for children with disabilities.

Why is CYO Day Camp
closing?
Over the
last few years enrollment at our three CYO sites has declined
significantly. As a result, CCHHS has had to absorb considerable
expense to operate this summer camping program. As a charitable
organization with limited resources we are not able to continue to
subsidize this program.
When the
summer day camping program began many years ago, there were limited
options for families in providing for their children’s recreational,
social and spiritual development during the summer months. Over the
years more Churches, schools and communities began offering
additional options for families during the summer and thus the need
for our program has diminished.
