Enjoy unique summer camping
experiences
If you are
looking for an exciting summer of fun and learning for your
children, Catholic Charities may have the camps for you. We have
unique camping opportunities for children and young adults, with and
without disabilities. The camp programs are administrated by
Catholic Charities at different locations in
Cuyahoga, Lake & Lorain Counties. Catholic Charities camping
includes three CYO day camp sites and four Camp Happiness sites (for
children with disabilities).
Catholic
Charities day camps are fun-filled in beautiful settings. The
campers will learn
new skills, make new friends, learn about each other and have the
opportunity to enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
Campers will
discover a sense of self, an appreciation of others and of nature,
and are able to see all this as a reflection of God. Catholic
Charities camps are open to children of all races, religions and
creeds. Our camps welcome everyone and respect each individual’s
personal beliefs. We believe that understanding differences makes
the world a better place.
The CYO day camps
are for school age children ages 6 (1st grade) to 12 (7th
grade) and runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Extended
hours are available for an additional fee. CYO will offer eight
one-week sessions from June 16th to Friday, August 8th.
There is no camp on Friday, July 4th.
The CYO
day camp sites are located at: Carmelita Hall/Parmadale, 2903 West
Ridgewood Dr., Parma; Center for Pastoral Leadership, 28700 Euclid
Ave. Wickliffe; and St. Joseph Parish, 200 St. Joseph Drive,
Amherst.
Camp Happiness
welcomes children and young adults ages 6-21 with cognitive (mr/dd)
and other developmental disabilities. Campers are individually
assessed to determine the appropriateness of the program offered.
Campers who would not benefit from this program will not be
accepted. Camp Happiness offers one seven-week session from
Monday, June 16 to Friday, August 1.
The Camp Happiness sites are located at: Parmadale, 6753 State Rd.,
Parma; Lakewood Catholic Academy, 14806 Lake Ave., Lakewood; Center
for Pastoral Leadership, 28700 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe; OLA/St.
Joseph Center, 2346 W. 14th St., Cleveland.
