Welcome to CYO Track and Field!

CYO Track and Field is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8. Boys and girls participate in regular season scheduled meets. Practices begin in early March followed by regular season meets. For each meet, runners in grades 3-8 participate in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, dash races, 1600 M Run, and 4 x100 relay, as well as Standing Jump, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, and Discus. The program concludes with the exciting Diocesan Championships in May.

Only trained coaches who attend the Coaches Development Program are permitted to coach in CYO Athletics. Every coach will facilitate a positive environment in which athletes can grow physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. For a list of sessions and to register, please visit the Coaches Development Program page.

CYO’s philosophy states that every player participates at all divisions of play. Each athlete must be treated with Dignity regardless of their ability. Participation on a team allows players to learn and understand the values of cooperation, teamwork, sportsmanship, responsibility and respect. CYO encourages each child to develop at their own pace while working for a common goal by regulating mandatory participation rules. The participation requirements are clearly defined in the rule book. It is our Hope that each athlete can make a significant contribution to their team.

Genesis 1:27 reminds us “in the Divine image God created humanity.” CYO Athletics encourages every athlete and every coach to accept one another with compassion, respect, patience, kindness, humility and understanding.

Track and Field athletes use their skills and discipline to help them finish that race or place in a field event!
