REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Spring Sports team entry packet information is posted on the Spring Sports page. Be sure to download the Team Entry Packet Compilation.

• CYO Sports Team Roster Deadline is March 23, 1010.  All athlete rosters must be created online and physical exams updated.  Be sure to review them to make sure all of your athletes are on the team roster.

• March 26, 2010: Last day to add any last minute athlete to CYO Varsity Baseball and Softball teams.

• April 9, 2010: Last day to add final athletes to CYO Spring Team Rosters (except Varsity Baseball and Softball).

• Be sure to review all athlete information online: Change their grade level, review their address, phone numbers, birth date, eligibility, and most importantly that their physical exams are current.  Be sure to have all athlete information completed especially Eligibility Request Forms submitted (where applicable) to avoid any athletes being declared ineligible to participate.

• Important note on athletes that are siblings:  You CANNOT use a sibling record in the database and change the first name and information.  If you do this, it overwrites the record of the original sibling.  When searching for athletes that are siblings, you must enter a new record if you cannot find the actual child's record. Please make a note of this for future online registration.

• Spring Sports Rules: Track and Field, High School Girls Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Boys Volleyball rules have been posted 2/5/10 on rules links at the bottom of each of the sports web pages.  Be sure to print them out for your reference and let your coaches know they can print them out directly off the website.

• Pastoral Designees: Be sure to reference the 2010 revised online instructions when creating your team entries.  They have been revised to instruct you how and where to properly enter team blackout dates as well as other important registration information.

• All CYO Team Registrations must be completed online in sportspilot during the open registration period. We no longer accept paper entries.  If your parish/school will be entering sport teams, you must have your username and password to register your teams online in sportspilot.  Please contact nmelendez@clevelandcatholiccharities.org or 216-334-1261 ext. 14 if you need your pastoral designee username and password information.

• Important Team Registration Information: Change your Pastoral Designee team role in every team registration you create to Designee.  For your head coach keep the role as Coach.  Change your assistant coaches role to Asst. Coach.

• Important Team Registration and Roster information:  Be sure to Add a coach and Add an athlete in the MANAGE TEAM ROSTER link according to these online instructions. You should be typing the coaches last name in the text box and searching for your coaches in the database and selecting them to auto fill the form.  When adding athletes,  type the athletes last name in the text box and use the Search by name feature, select the athlete from the list and their info will auto fill in the registration screen.  Only incoming 4th graders information needs to be entered in the form completely.

• Important:  When entering team registration information or adding coaches never overwrite an existing coach record with someone else's information and never overwrite a data entry called unknown coach.  When you do this the data gets compromised.  CYO uses the unknown coach field when we do not have coaches for your teams.  If you need to add a coach, use the add new feature and leave the unknown coach record as is.  CYO staff will remove the unknown coach field once we see a coach on the record.  Thanks for your assistance!

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Check out our online CYO Athletic Calendar 2009-2010! You can view program details on event links weekly, monthly and by agenda list, see location maps, and save and print out the calendar for your files.  View now.

• Member Proposal (New 5/09) The CYO recognizes that, at times there may be a need for two or more Parishes/Schools to merge for the purpose of fielding an athletic team. The CYO considers a Merger to be the last resort and should be used only when all other attempts by a Parish/School to field a team dependently have been exhausted.

• Eligibility Request forms (ERF) MUST be completed for all out of parish athletes playing on your team and submitted to our office by the team entry deadline. Failure to submit this form for any athlete will declare them ineligible to play for your parish team. Download Individual ERF Form (this form is to be used for 1 athlete), download Group ERF form (this form is to be used for 2 or more athletes from the same parish only).

• New form as of May, 2009 the ERF Form for Parishes/Schools Not Offering Sports is to be used for parishes/schools that do not offer sports and want their athletes to play for another member.

COACHES DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

• We are looking for sites to host the Coaches Development Program.  Read details.

• Coaches Online Registration! CYO Coaches can now register for the Coaches Development Class online with their Visa or Master credit card. You can however, as pastoral designee register your coaches if you pay with a credit card.  IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you register coaches, just enter their information and the credit card info. Do not input yourself as designee for these individuals CDP registrations. Check out online registration information page now on the Coaches Development page!

• CYO Certified Coaches Lists:  CYO Certified Coaches Lists archive through July 2007 on the Coaches Development page.  Review them by last name to verify if your archive coaches are CYO certified. 

  CYO Certified Coaches Beginning August 2007: If you would like to know which of your coaches were certified from the coaches development programs held beginning August 2007 through present year, please visit this web page Coaches Development.  This listing has been updated through March 2010.  Remember all CYO coaches are to be CYO certified before they begin coaching your parish teams!  If they need to attend a class, visit our Coaches Development page and view the program dates listings and complete a registration.
