The Bishop Roger Gries CYO Good Shepherd Fund provides access to CYO sports programs to youth in need in the Diocese of Cleveland CYO region. When student - athletes must “pay to play”, these costs can be insurmountable obstacles for athletes & families suffering in poverty.
The Bishop Roger Gries CYO Good Shepherd Fund provides supplementary funding for student participation, sports equipment, uniforms, facilities and leadership training for program leaders for CYO parish programs in need.
CYO is committed to never turning any child away due to a lack of funding. The Bishop Roger Gries CYO Good Shepherd Fund allows us to continue to build on the CYO legacy for all children for generations to come.
The general range for grant awards is $200-$2,000. Requests in excess of this range, with substantiated extraordinary circumstances, may be considered as well.
Forward regular applications to the CYO Athletic Office by April 17 of the current year. Announcements of awards will be made June 12. Emergency Applications can be made by June 30, September 30 or December 31.
