Welcome to CYO Basketball!
CYO Basketball is open to
boys and girls in grades 3-12. We offer grade school and high school leagues
as well as an Adult Basketball in the south. Practices begin in early
November followed by 8 regular season games for grades 3-6 and 10 games for
grades 7-8. The program concludes with the exciting Diocesan Championships.
Only trained coaches who attend the Coaches Development Program are
permitted to coach in CYO Athletics. Every coach will facilitate a positive
environment in which athletes can grow physically, emotionally, socially and
spiritually. For a list of sessions and to register, please visit the
Coaches Development Program web page.
CYO’s philosophy states that every player participates at all divisions of
play. Each athlete must be treated with Dignity regardless of their ability.
Participation on a team allows players to learn and understand the values of
cooperation, teamwork, sportsmanship, responsibility and respect. CYO
encourages each child to develop at their own pace while working for a
common goal by regulating mandatory participation rules. The participation
requirements are clearly defined in the rule book. It is our Hope that each
athlete can make a significant contribution to their team.
Genesis 1:27 reminds us “in the Divine image God created humanity.” CYO
Athletics encourages every athlete and every coach to accept one another
with compassion, respect, patience, kindness, humility and understanding.
Whether a basketball player is dribbling, passing, or shooting, CYO
Basketball develops a wide range of skills. CYO Basketball – all net!
