GENERAL
INFORMATION
CYO Athletics offers a grade school
wrestling program for boys in grades 4 -
8. (See Player Eligibility Rules for
guidelines). Teams are formed from
Catholic parishes, schools, or
institutions in the Central, Eastern,
and Western areas of the Diocese of
Cleveland.
Wrestling matches are held at various
gyms throughout the CYO service area.
Practice begins in early November and
the season begins the first weekend in
December and ends the final weekend of
February. The seven (7) dual meets as
well as the CYO Championship are held on
Sunday.
The CYO Wrestling program is looking for
expansion. Would you like to enter a
team? Do you have boys in your schools
that may wish to wrestle? The following
parishes sponsored wrestling teams last

Athletes wrestle by weight classes laid
out in the CYO Wrestling rules.
TEAM FORMATION
Teams are formed as a varsity team
regardless of grade of participants.
ENTRY
PROCESS

A team entry
form, $600 entry fee, and
eligibility request forms must be
received from members by the stated
Team Entry Deadline. This fee MUST
accompany your manual team
entry which is due Nov.9,2007. Download
the
Wrestling Team Entry Form.

Designees, if you enter your parish teams
ONLINE in Sports Pilot, be sure to download
the team entry confirmation form
which MUST accompany your
parish payment check. ONLINE team entry check payments
MUST BE PUT IN THE MAIL BY November 9, 2007 so we can mark your
teams paid in Sports Pilot.

CYO WRESTLING RULES
The Charter & Bylaws is the
governing document for all CYO sports and all member parishes. It should
be referred to for statements of philosophy and issues regarding
eligibility, eligibility requests, adjoining parish rules, merging
parishes to form a team, etc.
