DIOCESAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
In accordance with Bylaw 2, Section 12-2, Diocesan playoffs will be held for the Intermediate (individuals in grades 8, 7, 6 and ages 10-14) and Varsity (individuals in grades 12, 11, 10 and 9 and ages 14-18) levels in each sport. The Diocesan playoff/competition represents a culmination of an athlete’s experience. These play-offs are a showcase of skills and sportsmanship achieved through years of CYO involvement. For the Intermediate level, the Diocesan Championships will include t-shirts and programs. Diocesan playoffs are not guaranteed, and may be held if time and space permits.
Championship information is provided so coaches, parents, athletes, and fans can share in the responsibility and enjoyment of a smooth running tournament. Your cooperation and that of your athletes and fans is appreciated and expected at these events.
All Proceeds from the Diocese of Cleveland CYO Championships are placed in the Bishop Roger Gries CYO Good Shepherd Fund to assist our CYO parishes and staff with training, supplies, and support for the mission of CYO.
Basketball
The Girls Intermediate Championship were held on February 25-26 and the Boys
Intermediate Championships March 3-4, 2012.

Wrestling
The
Wrestling Championship was held February 11, 2012 at St. Edward High
School, 13500 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood. Congratulations to St.
Brendan-St. Richard boys team on their first place championship win!

Cheer
The Intermediate Cheer championship
was held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Holy
Name High School, Parma. Fourteen squads and 9 pairs participated in the exciting
competition!
We would like to congratulate St. Albert the Great, North Royalton our first place cheer champions and also to our runner-up squad SS Philip and James, Canal Fulton.
We would also like to congratulate our top four pairs winners:
