A coffee house
for young adults!

our next installment
of Grounds for Faith
on Friday, August
13, 2010.
Linda Hart
will present the
topic: “The
Christ Child
Society: Challenging
Poverty: One Child
at a Time.”
We will also be
collecting monetary
donations, new
socks, and new
underwear for the
Christ Child
Society. This
event sponsored by
CYO & Community
Services, Akron, and is an
opportunity
for young adults to
come together to
listen to a speaker,
enjoy coffee and
refreshments,
discuss, and
socialize. All
single and married
young adults are
invited to attend.

6:45 and the
speaker begins at
7:00.
Babysitting is
available on-site
during the event
from
6:45-9:00 for

and Chicks: What
Does it all Mean?
This is a retreat
where we discover
why God created us
male and female. It
will help us see the
masculinity and
femininity as
complimentary not
competitive. Dudes &
Chicks will be led
by Jen Ricard and
Ryan Mann and is
open to all young
adults ages 18-29
but you must have
graduated from high
school. Cost is
$35.00. While the
retreat at St.
Mary's ends at 2:00
p.m., we will meet
later that day at
the FEST at the
Center for Pastoral
Leadership.

The FEST,
Sunday August 8th |
|
The
FEST is a free, one day Catholic family festival. It
features live music, games and activities, and much
more! This year’s music lineup includes newsboys,
the Afters, and Matt Maher. The day ends with an
incredible Mass and an awesome fireworks display.
It's an opportunity to come together as a people of
faith, celebrating the wonderful things God has done
in our lives and in our world.

Simply Yours - Weekly Young Adult
Prayer Group

explore different forms of prayer within the
Christian Tradition with other young adults
at a weekly Thursday evening prayer group for young
adults. The group meets from 8-9pm at the
Newman Center behind St. Bernard’s Parish
in downtown
Akron.
