Young Adult Leaders Leave 2006 Catholic Leadership Conference with Practical Resources

The 2006 Catholic Leadership Conference was held on January 14 at John Carroll University.  The Leadership Conference is unique in that its purpose is to gather the leaders of young adult (20s and 30s) programs and groups.  Greg Schmidt, conference director, explained that, “The mission of the conference is to provide skill based workshops and practical resources to give leaders the tools they need to develop successful young adult programs and groups.”   One of the highlights of the 2006 conference was the Keynote, given by Mr. Jeff Jeney, President of St. Vincent Charity Hospital. Mr. Jeney’s ability to share leadership strategies through stories, cartoons, and practical examples as a man of deep faith was very energizing and inspiring.  The day also included workshops on 1.) Getting started in Young Adult Ministry 2.)  Promoting your group and 3.) Group finances and money management.  When starting a young adult group or program you don’t have to do it alone.  Our diocese has many resources to help you!   If you are interested in resources from this day or would like to be put on the mailing list please contact Greg Schmidt at 440-479-6234 or justgregs@sbcglobal.net or Paul Kelly at 216-334-1261 x28 or pekelly@clevelandcatholiccharities.org
