For the first time, Youth Helping Catholic Charities will be a regional
effort! Schools in Summit, Geauga, Lake, and Eastern Cuyahoga counties will
raise money for the Home Services Program in Summit County which helps senior
citizens care for their homes through the labor of high school and junior
high youth. So far in 2007, the program has assisted 76 seniors! For volunteer
opportunities, please contact: Mary Kase at 330-762-2961x232.
All funds raised by schools in Ashland, Lorain, Wayne, Medina, and Western
Cuyahoga counties will benefit the 8th Street Family Center in Lorain. The
family center provides outreach to members of the community via a food pantry,
programs for families and children, and emergency assistance. Mary Lou Wellman
can discuss volunteer opportunities with you, and can be reached at: 440.366.1106
ext. 11. We encourage all schools to take advantage of the volunteer opportunities
that each organization offers for service or youth group activities.
