How to Become a Volunteer
The first step in becoming a volunteer for Catholic Charities Community Services/Summit County is to contact the volunteer office at 330.762.2961 x232 or email
mkase@clevelandcatholiccharities.org for a volunteer packet. If you e-mail, please include your name, phone, and area of interest (Adult Day Services, Camp Christopher (seasonal), Hot Meals Program, Food Pantry, Teens for Service, Women’s Board or Programs for Persons with Developmental Disabilities
or general agency clerical help.)
We firmly believe that volunteers are vital staff support and should be placed in meaningful assignments that match your interests and utilize your talents. Placement is based on available openings. We ask our volunteers to dedicate a minimum of 30 hours per year once placed in a program area.
The volunteer process includes successful completion of: an application, interview/general orientation, reference/background checks, Virtus training for adults (National Catholic Risk Retention Group, Inc) and training for individual assignments. A tuberculosis test is also required for those volunteering with Adult Day Services.
