Purpose: To provide structured residential treatment for adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.

Population served: Located at several east-side sites within Greater Cleveland, the group homes house men and women who have mental retardation and multiple developmental disabilities.

Criteria: Applicants are referred by the County Board of Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities (MR/DD) to Rose-Mary Center’s admission team for evaluation on an individual basis.

Fees: None.

Major Funders: Medicaid, Cuyahoga County Board of MR/DD

In 2004 preparations began for the opening of a new Group Home, bringing a total of seven to Rose-Mary Center

Significant effort and time was invested throughout 2004 in advocating with State and local legislatures on behalf of residential care for mentally retarded / developmentally disabled clients whose funding was threatened.
