“I didn't know where to turn,” explained Mary. “When Michelle started hurting herself, cutting herself, no one knew what to do. Fortunately, we found Parmadale. They understood her needs, they understood our family's needs, they knew what to do. Today, Michelle is home and back in school.”
Making the decision to place an adolescent is never an easy one. Parmadale's intake specialists have worked with thousands of families, caregivers, and custodial agents throughout the country to help them decide whether placement in a highly structured, intensive residential treatment program is appropriate. Often, intensive residential treatment is the last option.
Fortunately, the intake process at the Parmadale Institute is rapid and responsive. Simply contact our Intake Department via phone or email, providing them the youth's age and presenting needs. Intake staff will work with you to obtain other information needed to make a placement decision. Decisions regarding the appropriateness of placement can be made within hours of receiving the necessary information.
The Parmadale Institute charges for the services it provides. The rates vary by service and program. The Parmadale Institute is a Title IV-E and Medicaid certified agency and happy to work with any other state agency or insurance provider. Our Intake staff will work with placing agents to determine costs and contract requirements.
The Parmadale Institute accepts virtually all youth referred. While 99% of adolescents are accepted, some youth cannot best be helped at Parmadale. Generally, youth that may not be appropriate for placement are:
youth with current physical health needs that require hospitalization; and
youth that are adjudicated sexual offenders and subject to the sexual offender notification and registration laws of Ohio.
