Match Grant (MG) Program Grant

The Match Grant (MG) Program Grant is part of the Division of the Division of Community Resettlement within the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement. Its purpose is to help refugees, asylees, and other eligible entrants achieve economic self-sufficiency within 120-180 days after arrival in the United States without relying on public cash assistance. Approved forms of assistance include food stamps, Medicaid, subsidized housing, and/ or childcare.

Match Grant recipients undergo intensive employment services to achieve the goal of economic self-sufficiency. Additional services required to be provided by resettlement agencies include case management, maintenance assistance, and local administration. Eligible individuals must be enrolled within 31 days of arrival in the United States and must have at least one employable adult within the family.
