"Welcoming the Stranger"

Ignatian Volunteer, Roger Cosgriff was looking for a way to serve the poor and strengthen his relationship with God. Cosgriff said “I want a deeper relationship with God and I feel that I will find him most clearly in people who are in need”. He found what he was looking for through his volunteer work with Migration and Refugee Services. Cosgriff works directly with refugee populations relocated from Burma (Myanmar), Burundi, Iraq, Somalia and Bhutan. He has been a huge asset to the department by helping in every area possible. “Roger has been a tremendous help to the employment area”

Trena Pacetti, Volunteer Apartment Set- up Coordinator for MRS. Trena started volunteering with MRS in 2007 and became the official Apartment Set- up Coordinator in February 2008. Since she started, Trena and over 100 volunteers have set up 37 apartments on the west side of Cleveland. Trena, along with her husband Augie and their two young sons spend many weekends and evenings helping MRS with this important mission.
