Welcome / Prayer – Each participant will receive a manual, sample report, Building Strong Marriage Workbook and powerpoint handouts. 

Part I – (3 hours) Introduction to understanding and administering the inventories. 
 
                    (powerpoint presentation, P/E Manual, sample report and discussion) 

            Section 1:  Overview of PREPARE/ENRICH 

            Section 2:  Administering Couple Inventories 

                                    Fill-in Blue Registration Cards
                                    Internet Procedures – Log-in / Manage Couples / Print Reports
                                    Purchasing Scorings through Dept for Marriage & Family (1 free) 

                                    10 minute break 

            Section 3: Interpretation of Computer Report 

            Section 4:  Couple and Family Map

                                    30 minute Lunch (provided) 

Part II – (3 hours) Meeting with Couples – Six Exercises and giving feedback
            (DVD vignettes; Building Strong Marriage workbook, discussion) 

            Section 5:  Overview of Giving Feedback                                    

Exercise I:  Sharing Strength & Growth Areas
            Exercise II:  Assertiveness & Active Listening
            Exercise III:  Ten Steps for Resolving Couple Conflict 

                                    10 minute break 

                                    Exercise IV:  Feedback Using the Couple & Family Map
                                    Exercise V:  Financial Plans & Budget
                                    Exercise VI:  Goals Exercise:  Personal, Couple & Family 

            Section 6:  Integrating with the process of Marriage Preparation                                   

In the spirit of the RCIA – a visible parish ministry
            Clergy as welcomer, reconciler, evangelizer
            Training / utilizing couple ministers
            Combining spiritual formation and skills training
            Choosing the right preparation day – Pre-Cana / Prep / Cana II
            Referring couples with more serious issues
            Developing Marriage Enrichment for couples after wedding
