"Catholic Charities Community Services Head Start provides safe, quality, loving care for children 3-5 years of age. We recognize the importance of balance for mental, physical, health and emotional growth that supports the development of your child.
Head Start embraces the fact that parents are a child’s first teacher. We encourage parents to be actively engaged in their child’s educational experience by volunteering at the center and becoming a member of the Parent and Policy Committees.
Our teaching staff are required to have an educational background in Early Childhood Education. Teachers use the High/Scope™ Curriculum, the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework, the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards, Child Observation Record (COR) and Devereux Early Childhood Assessment (DECA) to develop lesson plans to ensure that our program meets the individual needs of each child. Children are encouraged to learn and explore at their own pace through open ended activities in areas that interest them.
We have eight centers in the Cleveland Area and one in Parma. Catholic Charities Community Services Head Start Centers are Step Up To Quality rated, excelling at higher quality standards.
Our program is “FREE” to those families who are income eligible. Each child must have a dental, physical and all screenings. Children and families with disabilities are welcome and encouraged to enroll!
