SPECIAL SERVICES FOR EX-OFFENDERS (RETURNING CITIZENS)
In recent years, Catholic Charities Employment and Training has experienced an overwhelming increase in the number of individuals with a felony record who are looking for work. They are committed to improving themselves, providing for their families and working.
If you are in this position and are committed to finding work, Employment and Training is committed to helping you put your past behind you and helping you succeed.
Services for this program include:
Case Management - Staff helps people who are adjusting to re-entering into the community, and navigating the various systems that will help them become successful. For example, we can help you learn about community resources for housing, food and clothing. And if you are interested in getting “clean,” we help you access a drug treatment program.
Job Placement Assistance - Staff is available to help you find and keep a job. We are not a “placement” agency; however, staff identifies and works with area companies who are willing to hire people with records.
Transitional Jobs - Some individuals need more help than others finding work. On an individual case-by-case basis staff, Employment and Training will supplement the income of an individual in a temporary job assignment with an employer that will consider hiring the person, if s/he meets or exceeds the employers’ expectations during the transitional job.
Supportive Services – Staff helps individuals with services or items that they may need to help them secure a job or help them until they receive their first pay check. Individuals may receive transportation assistance, vouchers for uniforms and clothing, money for driver’s license or state identification, and other similar assistance. Restrictions may apply.
These services are funded by United Way Services of Greater Cleveland, Catholic Charities Services Employment and Training and the Eva L. and Joseph M. Bruening Foundation. For more information: (216) 426-9870.
