ADVOCACY ACTION
Catholic
Community Connection believes in the dignity of human life from
conception until natural death. It is our responsibility to each
other, our community and humankind to promote equality, protect
human rights and demand justice and respect for weak and vulnerable
populations.
The foundation
of all Catholic Social Teaching is the belief that every person is
made in the image of God. All human life is sacred, and the dignity
of every person must be protected. Everyone has a fundamental right
to have access to those things required for human dignity—food and
shelter, education and employment, housing, freedom of religion and
access to health care.
This mandates
that our healthcare system be available to everyone, sufficiently
and fairly financed, cost-effective and patient-centered to meet
health needs in all stages of life.
We must meet the
needs of all people and create a climate where individuals thrive,
not just survive. Health care reform is a social and political issue
that requires shared responsibility and sacrifice from everyone.
Catholic
Community Connection urges you to become the voice for those who
cannot speak, to work toward reform that is focused on access to
health and preventative care for every individual and to preserve
the Church’s moral teachings on the sanctity of life.
Contact your members of Congress to express your support for health care reform and your commitment to the protection of the dignity and sanctity of life.
