Coming to Cleveland in May 2010
Exhibit reveals role of Courageous Women in shaping U.S. History
Rare artifacts, poignant photographs, compelling video and first-person accounts tell the stories of pioneering women
who established schools, hospitals and other enduring institutions and continue to work for peace and social justice.
WOMEN & SPIRIT: Catholic Sisters in America, will travel to Cleveland directly from its appearance at The
Smithsonian to open at The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in Beachwood, Ohio on May 9 through August 28, 2010.
Women & Spirit is a project of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) in association with Cincinnati Museum
Center. It comes to Cleveland through the generosity of lead sponsors Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland, Notre
Dame College, PNC and Ursuline College/Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland, with support from The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland,
Cleveland Foundation, The John P Murphy Foundation, the Samuel H and Maria Miller Foundation, Sisters of Charity Foundation
of Canton, and The Thomas and Sandra Sullivan Family.
National exhibit sponsors are Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the Catholic Health Association of the United States and Catholic
Health East.
