Betsy Knestrick, Marriage & Family Specialist

Purpose: An organized plan for a parish to provide companionship to those who are aged, lonely, isolated and lack contact with family and/or friends. Works with parish coordinators to establish a program and train individuals to make regular visits to homes of older adults.

Population Served: Parish communities particularly impacted by older adults and homebound persons.

Criteria: Parish coordinators recruit volunteers who will be screened and interviewed as appropriate for this ministry.

Fees: $25.00 per person.

Major Funders: Catholic Charities Annual Appeal; training fees.
