CYO Athletics

Purpose: An integral part of youth ministry, CYO Athletics fosters the spiritual growth of youth by providing athletic programs that promote Christian values; providing an avenue to be part of a team that builds a sense of community which nurtures and stresses positive social interaction; and providing an opportunity to play in an atmosphere where "sportsmanship and participation is the name of the game" as well as skill development. CYO Athletic programs offer boys and girls in Catholic parishes, schools or institutions cheerleading, football, soccer, volleyball, cross country; basketball, wrestling, baseball, track and field.
Population Served: The Catholic Charities CYO athletic program provides programming for youth in grades 4-8 in Lorain, Cuyahoga, Lake, and Geauga Counties. We also provide high school youth grades 9-12 to participate in our basketball programs. Our program area is divided into three areas of service: Central (the city of Cleveland), East (Lake, Geauga and Eastern Cuyahoga Counties) and West (Lorain and Western Cuyahoga Counties).
Criteria: Youth in grades 4 - 8 are eligible to participate through their home parishes. Youth in grades 9 - 12 are eligible to participate in our high school basketball programs. (See CYO Player Eligibility Rules)
Fees: Teams Entry fees are as follows: Baseball $295, Fast pitch Softball $295, Boys Track and Field $95 per grade, Girls Track and Field $95 per grade, Boys Soccer $300, Boys Volleyball $235, Boys and Girls Grade school Basketball $350, High School Boys and Girls Basketball $375, Football $450, Football Combined $730, Girls volleyball $235, Girls Soccer $300, Cheerleading $180, Cross Country $100 for Varsity and $100 for Cadet divisions. Our Coaches Development program fee is $25 per coach.
