St. Philip Neri Family Center

St. Phillip Neri Family Center The St. Philip Neri Family Center was established in 2009 to serve the residents living in the St. Clair-Superior and Glenville neighborhoods of Cleveland. As a family center, the programs and services offered help to strengthen the family unit and help provide children with the opportunity to grow and prosper in a safe, caring environment.

In addition to programs and services offered by Catholic Charities, other organizations provide health and medical assistance and referrals, a coffee shop, Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, GED preparation, after school and summer tutoring.

Programs and Services



Young Parent Program

Purpose: The Young Parenting Program (YPP) is a, alternative education program for pregnant and parenting teens. YPP offers pregnant teens a comprehensive, coordinated program of education, social services and personal enrichment opportunities.

Population Served: Pregnant 14-18 years old.

Criteria:When enrolling you must be pregnant.

Fees:None

Major Funders: Accredited teacher is provided by the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

Head Start

Purpose: quality preschool education for children 3-5 years of age.

Population Served: Must reside in St. Clair-Superior or Glenville neighborhoods

Criteria:Must meet income eligibility requirements

Fees:None

Major Funders:Federal funding, Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland (CEOGC)

Emergency Assistance Hot Meal

Purpose: To serve a nutritious hot meal

Population Served: Individuals in need of a meal

Criteria:Must reside in these designated zip code zones: 44103, 44106, 44108

Fees:None

Food Pantry

Purpose: Provides three meals for three days to each household member

Population Served: Persons of all ages, race and religious beliefs living in the geographical area. Unemployed/Underemployed,Senior Citizen

Criteria:Must reside in these designated zip code zones:44103, 44106, 44108. Must provide proof address, income, family size.

Fees:None

Rental and Utility Assistance

Purpose: To prevent homelessness and to prevent utility shutoff.

Population Served: Anyone living in the geographical area served

Criteria:Must provide identification, social security number, proof of family, proof of income, and proof of family size.

Summer Lunch Program

Purpose: To provide a nutritious lunch to children during the summer

Purpose: To provide transportation to clients who have appointments

Ursuline Institute of Learning

Purpose: Using multifaceted techniques through individual instruction, our tutors at the (UIL) provide for enrichment and/or remediation in various disciplines for adults and students from preschool through college and beyond. 216.780.5416

Employment Services

Purpose: To provide job search services (including using the Internet) and to assist with resume preparation and to offer a Job Club, which is held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 10:00am to noon. 216-426-9870 Ext. 20

Summer Program

Project Health Outreach of Prevention and Empowerment

Purpose: Project H.O.P.E of Cleveland, Inc. has provides free basic health-related screenings, evaluations, education, financial assistance for health issues and medical referrals.

Population Served:Project H.O.P.E. mainly serves people residing in the St. Clair, Superior and Glenville neighborhoods.
